Out of respect for other visitors and our natural ecosystem, we encourage you to always keep your dogs on leash unless signage indicates leashes are optional and your dog is under voice control (and also remains in your line of sight at all times).

Ride the Gondola at Loon Mountain Resort (Lincoln, NH)
If your dog is good with small spaces and you love a good view, book a ride on Loon Mountain Resort’s gondola. Over 1.3 scenic miles, you will ascend to the summit of Loon Peak while also having plenty of time for picture taking with your pupper. This is a summer-exclusive offering. Dogs must be leashed, well-behaved, and under the owner’s control in order to ride the Gondola. Dogs can descend the mountain via ski trails or open slopes, but they are prohibited from all mountain bike trails.
Drive Yourself Up the Mt. Washington Auto Road (Gorham, NH)
Book a Drive Yourself tour to the top of the Mt. Washington Auto Road, and bring your dog along for the ride! Can’t you picture your pup’s ears flapping in the breeze as you ascend up to 6,288’? To better protect the fragile ecosystem found on the Northeast’s highest peak, pets must always be leashed when outside the vehicle. Pets are also prohibited from entering the Sherman Adams State Park Building at the summit, but we think walking around the summit is well worth a few extra rules to follow.
Believe in Books Literacy Foundation (Intervale, NH)
Take to the woods! The Trails in the Wood, that is. The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation offers miles of dog-friendly walking trails, including their famed Storybook Trail (perfect for any kids tagging along on your adventure). An annual or day pass is required, as are leashes. Remember to clean up after your dog too!
Experience Squam Boating Excursions (Holderness, NH)
A seasonal expedition on Squam Lake is one of our favorite ways to frolic with our four-legged friends. Experience Squam Boating Excursions offer private tours of one of NH’s most pristine lakes, and your dog is invited to partake! Book online in advance on the Experience Squam website.
Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center (Gorham, NH)
Will you have your dog with you all day? We suggest driving up the Mt. Washington Auto Road in the AM, and then taking the afternoon to stretch your legs with a walking session on the dog-friendly trail network found at Great Glen Trails! If it’s the winter, you can also spend the day snowshoeing (as long as your dog has the proper gear to stay toasty warm). Dogs must be leashed throughout their visit to Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center.
Tanger Outlets Tilton (Tilton, NH)
If you’re hunting for deals at Tanger Outlets Tilton and one of your crew is more than content to just window shop, we’d say bring your dog along! There’s plenty to see at this dog-friendly outlet mecca. Well behaved, leashed dogs are allowed in common areas
Settlers Green (North Conway, NH)
Settlers Green in North Conway, NH is another dog-friendly place to go shopping; in fact, they even offer pet-friendly stores! Look for the pawprint sticker on the door of select shops. After you’ve had your fill of deals, look for Percy’s Dog House (aka the perfect spot for a doggo photo), and use #seenatsettlers to get featured. Pup waste bag dispensers are located throughout the shopping center. Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
Quincy Bog Natural Area (Rumney, NH)
Quincy Bog’s nature trails are mostly flat, so smaller dogs will have no trouble navigating the terrain. As you explore, you will travers through the woods and across causeways, boardwalks, and bridges that will immerse you in the bog’s natural beauty. Visitors must stay on trails and pick up all dog waste.
